Ceiba speciosa (Silk Floss) Throw Pillow

Description

This special throw pillow features the Ceiba speciosa, or Silk Floss, entry in my “Trees on White” series. This tree is a favorite for most gardeners who live in tropical locations. It’s simply stunning. Despite its incredible pink blooms in spring, it’s the tree’s trunk that is its most distinctive feature. The Silk Floss is a deciduous tree which grows in tropical climates with year-round sunshine, which presents a competitive disadvantage. To compensate, the bark of the trunk contains chlorophyll, and can thus photosynthesize. Once the tree is old and established, the trunk loses its chlorophyll, and the bark turns brown. But I prefer them in this younger wardrobe, where the bright green bark provides stunning contrast for the ominous-looking thorns.

The pillow measures 16″ x 16″.  The case is zipperless, and made of high quality Simplex knit fabric, meaning it is 100% polyester and wrinkle-free.  The manufacturing of the pillow is performed by Zazzle, who will ship the pillow directly to you.
